Artist Statement:

In the brain, what it feels like sometimes-drunkard’s liquor….

Through my work I am investigating Hong Kong nightlife, and in doing so, I attempt to think about the sense of exile on illusory and reconstruct my reality of Hong Kong people. My intention is to undermine that Hong Kong people still keep trapped their life within these glass bottle and continues to devour in “lakes of wine and forest of meat”.

“Hallucinations City, we were dreaming(Series)” is a composite installation of melting various glasses that people drunk in pub or at the street and mix up together with 3 pieces photographs of several works that engage cultural, physical and spiritual healing.

These images combine any contemporary figures or urban nightlife with colorful lighting and twist with the alcoholic effect. Together, photos and bottles represent the kind of multi-national city that attempts to express happiness, craziness as well as loneliness within our city.
